A New Day in Health Care

We are excited to share that CVS Health, the nation’s premier health innovation company, has completed its acquisition of Aetna.

The combination of CVS Health and Aetna is a transformative moment for our company and our industry. With the combined capabilities of two leading organizations, our goal is to help transform the consumer health experience through a new innovative health care model that is easier to use, less expensive and puts consumers at the center of their care. Our new company will have a local focus, engaging consumers with the care they need when and where they need it, will make a complicated system simpler for all and will help people achieve better health at a lower cost. We are also committed to leading change in health care by challenging the status quo with new technologies, business models and partnerships. In doing so, we will deliver on our purpose of helping people on their path to better health.

Our unmatched ability to connect with consumers where they live and work allows them to access the care they need when, where and how they need it – whether at our stores, in the community, at home or through digital tools.

Together, we will build upon the strong foundation of CVS and Aetna’s longstanding relationship. By fully integrating Aetna's medical information and analytics with CVS Health’s pharmacy data, we can enable more effective treatment of the whole consumer based on a more complete picture of their health. As a result, consumers will benefit from earlier interventions and better-connected care, leading to better health outcomes and lower medical costs.

As we bring our two companies together, your clients will continue to work with us as they do today, and receive the same great products, support and service.

A strong Aetna management team will remain, including Karen Lynch, who will serve as Executive Vice President of CVS Health and will continue as President of Aetna, which will be a stand-alone business unit of CVS Health. Ms. Lynch is a seasoned professional with a strong strategic orientation and proven track record.
